This stage of your training introduces you to the 20 Plus British Standards on Gas Safety, The Gas Safety Regulations, and Related Building Regulations.
Training is provided in a blend of in class training, theory and practical with homework assignments that will prepare you for stages 2 and 3 Our Flexi-Train program is ideal for busy individuals not wishing to disrupt their existing commitments, whilst the Fast Track option is perfect those wishing to complete very quickly. |
You must gain real life experience working on gas under the supervision of a gas registered engineer. This stage includes training, work experience and site assessment with our own service division and NVQ Gas Assessors. During this period you will develop a portfolio of gas evidence and gain confidence transferring your theory into practical. If you are already aligned with a gas employer and wish to avoid the costs of this stage, you are free to complete this stage yourself and return your completed portfolio for approval.

Once you have completed your portfolio you will return to the centre for your written and practical acs competence assessments. These will include CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety Element), CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis) and a choice of appliances (CKR1, CENWAT, and optional HTR1, MET1) required to work on gas boilers, water heaters, cookers, fires, and meters.
Once successfully assessed and having received your acs gas certificates you will be eligible to apply for your gas licence |
